The Leatherback - our original coffee
The Leatherback is the coffee that started it all! A blend of Brazilian, Costa Rican and Indonesian beans, representing the first three areas where we are helping out local turtle conservation projects.
Our Brazilian beans come from the famous coffee growing region of Cerrado Minas Gerais. The beans we use include varieties Mundo Novo, Catuai and Bourbon, which are all naturally processed.
Our Costa Rican beans come from the fabulous Tarazzu region, grown between 1280 and 1800m above sea level. We use the gorgeous Caturra and Catuai varieties, which are washed and patio dried, and provide notes of citrus and chocolate to the mix.
Our Indonesian coffee beans are grown near Lake Toba which is the largest volcanic lake in the world. Processed using Giling Basah, these beans bring a spicy aroma with hints of tobacco. The varieties are Catimor and Typica.
Together we think they make one AWESOME coffee!
